Paulownia "Kiri" Tree Clutch in Orange | Upcycled from vintage Japanese Obi

A handmade clutch purse upcycled from vintage premium Japanese kimono obi fabric.

It was once customary to plant a Paulownia tree when a baby girl was born. This fast-growing tree would mature and when the girl reaches the age of marriage the tree would be cut and made into wooden chest as part of her dowry.

Base Fabric: vintage Japanese silk obi
Pattern: Paulownia "Kiri" Tree in Orange
Hardware: 8" metal frame, ball kisslock closure
Strap: 43" genuine leather and metallic chain strap

MEASUREMENTS: 9″ x 5″ x 2.5″
